On June 6-7, The Fortress hosted the Suzann Pettersen Qualifier presented by Frankenmuth Insurance, the official amateur qualifier for the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. The winner of the tournament received an exemption into the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, an LPGA event at Midland Country Club, July 17-22. The qualifier started with a wonderful welcome reception where players were able to hear from Suzann Pettersen and learn more about her career, what it takes to be on the LPGA tour and the upcoming Solheim Cup. The tournament consisted of 27 amateur golfers competing for their opportunity to play along with the professionals with 2 days’ worth of impressive golf!
Annabelle Pancake of Carmel, Indiana and current member of the Clemson University women’s golf team won the tournament with a 36-hole score of -5. Good luck to Annabelle and her Clemson teammate who will be competing together in the team event later this month, we’re excited to cheer you on!
